Troop Meetings

Plan and organize troop meetings.

How to Plan a Troop Meeting

Planning a troop meeting is a key responsibility of the Patrol Leaders' Council (PLC). A well-planned meeting is engaging, productive, and fun for all Scouts. Here are the steps to planning a successful troop meeting:

1
groups Preparation

Gather Your PLC

The Senior Patrol Leader (SPL) leads the PLC, which includes all patrol leaders. The Scoutmaster and other adult leaders should be present to provide guidance.

The Green Bar Meeting

The first meeting of each month is the Green Bar Meeting. This is the monthly meeting of the Patrol Leaders' Council. At this meeting, the PLC plans the troop's meetings and activities for the upcoming month. The name "Green Bar" comes from the green bars on the patrol leader's patch of office.
