Hunter Creek Trail
Situated just outside Reno, the Hunter Creek Trail is a popular hiking and trail-running destination. A beautiful 30-foot waterfall is located at the trail's end, great for relaxing or dipping your toes into the cold water. The trail is well-marked and suitable for the whole family. At the trailhead, visitors will find a parking area and restrooms. Make sure to bring sunscreen and enough water on a hot day.
Reno Truckee River Trail- Wingfield Park to Idewild Park
A fun paved urban walk through downtown and along the Truckee River. The trail can be continued in either direction. Wingfield and Idlewild Park Hours: 5:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m., April 1 - September 30 6:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., October 1 - March 31 Accessibility: There are 3 designated accessible spaces in the small paved parking lot off of Island Avenue in the center of the trail. 2 of them are van-accessible with striped access aisles. The trail surface is paved (with edge barriers and railings) and smooth. It is typically 4 to 6 feet wide (with many wider passing spaces). The majority of the trail is estimated to be in the gentle grade category (3% or less). This trail will likely be navigable for most wheelchairs/mobility equipment or stroller users. There are benches and picnic tables along the route for resting.
